Matrix RepatterningWhat is Matrix Repatterning
Matrix Repatterning is a clinically proven, gentle, hands-on treatment that precisely locates and treats injury at the SOURCE of the problem, eliminating discomforting symptoms. The non-invasive treatment ‘works from the inside out’, restoring and correcting imbalances at the cellular level, deep in the structure of the body. When obstructions are cleared at the cellular level, the body’s natural healing mechanisms become unblocked and are than able to perform efficiently. The most common way primary restrictions (points of injury) are created, is when a force enters the body (ie. car accidents, sporting injuries, falls, repetitive actions...) and is absorbed in dense tissues. These restrictions create patterns of tension that develop into symptoms (ie. decreased range of motion in joints, tension, pain), disrupting and hindering normal daily activities and lifestyles. Note:
How it works
Over time, especially as adults, we collect a history of injuries in our bodies. The body is very adaptable and therefore makes adjustments with each of these injuries in order to continue functioning. However, injuries do not just disappear, they become layers of tension in the body. As the body's tensions build, these layered patterns of tension can manifest as physical symptoms ie. pain, tension, decreased mobility in joint(s). Often times, the symptoms show in remote areas to the injuries. A symptom can be remote to an injury due to the continuous fabric in the body known as the extracellular matrix. This matrix allows patterns of tension to manifest the symptom in areas distant from the actual injury The extracellular matrix interconnects each of the bodies parts to one another. Nothing in the body is isolated, it is all connected. Locating a site of injury (aka. primary restriction) and treating that site, relieves a layer of tension that contributes to the symptom. This relief is the process of unlayering the levels of injury. As one layer is relieved an older one may be exposed. Old symptoms may arise when the unraveling of layers exposes the underlying tensions. These new symptoms are revealing the next layer to be treated. As the tensions of the body are consecutively relieved, the body’s pain and restriction decrease and the mobility, stability and range of motions increase. Who benefits from a treatment
Anyone that has sustained a fall, an impact, an accident or repetitive strain to the body can benefit from a Matrix Repatterning treatment. It is beneficial for all age groups. MR normalizes tissue and therefore can do no harm. Due to Matrix Repatterning's ability to normalize tissue, it can be very beneficial in aiding with the healing process of an acute injury. Chronic symptoms will take more time to unravel the contributing layers of tension. Symptoms of a chronic nature tend to be more complex as they are usually an accumulation of injuries and possible lifestyle choices (biochemical, emotional...) that indirectly contribute to the mechanics of the body. when to seek care
Symptoms are the bodies messengers that are communicating that something is out of balance and needs attention. Pain is merely a messenger. Symptoms, such as pain and decreased ranges of motion in joints indicate function has changed and needs attention. what does matrix repatterning treat?
Common Conditions Treated by MR (to name a few):
caused by: impact injuries from falls, car crashes, sports, and repetitive strain injuries. what to expect in a treatment
The Initial appointment is 60 minutes. The client will go through an interview/assessment with the practitioner, that reviews the health history of the client, a detailed assessment (postural imbalances, tonicity of soft tissue, stability and range of motion of major joints, reflex/neurological tests and a scan of the full body to assess for the sites of injury). The assessment findings will identify the various areas that require treatment and how these areas relate to your symptoms. (approx. 30 minutes). The Initial assessment is than followed by a treatment. The treatment portion of the first appointment will be the remaining time of the 60 minutes (approx. 30 min.). The actual treatment is very gentle and hands-on. Specific vectors of primary restriction (sites of injury) are tested and than treated by using gentle pressure to release restricted tissue. The release can facilitate the restoration of muscle tone, flexibility, joint mobility and optimal bio-mechanical function. A standard appointment is 45 minutes. This appointment will consist of a brief 3-4 minute scan of the body followed by the treatment. Re-scanning the body will reveal and confirm the appointments' treatment priorities. After a treatment (what you should do and what to expect)
new clients
Please print and fill out the Matrix Repatterning New Client Form and bring it to your first appointment What to wear? It is best to wear loose and comfortable clothing at your appointment ie. sweatpants, yoga pants, shorts, T-shirt, loose fitting top. Also, please refrain from wearing an underwire bra, (sport bras are a good substitute). The wire interferes with the bodies natural, electrical signal. FAQ
Q: What should I wear to the appointment? A: It is best to wear loose and comfortable clothing at your appointment ie. sweatpants, yoga pants, shorts, T-shirt, loose fitting top. Also, please refrain from wearing an underwire bra, (sport bras are a good substitute). The wire interferes with the bodies natural, electrical signal. Q: What is the Matrix Scanner for? A: The Matrix Pulse Scanner is used during the treatment, both for assessment and treatment. The scanner allows the therapist to identify primary restrictions or points of injury with more accuracy. It also has the advantage of increasing the speed of tissue healing. The scanner is PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) technology. Q: What is required for my first appointment? A: You need to fill out a health history form. This can be done by either printing and filling out the PDF form or by arriving to the appointment 10 minutes early in order to fill one out. what to expect
A massage therapy focused treatment will initially involve, an assessment of the client in order to discover the areas requiring treatment. This will isolate the muscles and soft tissue that are functioning incorrectly and identify muscle and postural imbalances. History of Swedish massage
Massage therapy is one of the oldest methods of healing. The practice of therapeutic massage can be traced back nearly 4,000 years. Modern massage techniques can be traced back to the 1700s and the development of Swedish massage, the first systematic method of therapeutic massage based on physiology. Today’s Massage Therapists use their knowledge of anatomy and physiology to combine traditional Swedish and modern Massage Therapy techniques with exercise and other therapies to treat their clients.
