June 22, 2023 Ontario Ministry of Health: Mask mandates have ended
The wearing of a mask during an appointment will be the clients' personal choice. I, the practitioner, will not be wearing a mask.
IF you are experiencing any ill health symptoms OR are isolating due to illness or symptoms, please refrain from entering the clinic. Please use common sense, to help keep everyone healthy. :-)
June 5, 2020 RE-Opening the CLINIC!!! Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is well and navigating smoothly through these crazy, challenging, and unpredictable times. I can't believe that in less than a month it will officially be summer -- likely to be the strangest summer of our lifetime.
In light of the news, Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health’s Directive #2 Regulated Health Professionals (ie. Regulated Massage Therapists) are now able to gradually restart providing in-person services.
We have been given the ‘go ahead’ to slowly start to ease restrictions on massage therapy businesses. I am hoping that mid-June is a realistic target date. Sorry I can’t be more specific but there is a lot to get ready.
I will be contacting urgent care clients first to get them into the schedule. I will then start scheduling clients that missed appointments due to cancellations during the COVID-19 closure. Once this is achieved I will open my online booking. I ask that you please be patient. My availability will be reduced due to the required screening, disinfecting and distancing that is now necessary.
An Update for my Practice and Scheduling. The need to provide a safe place to protect your health is paramount to me, so here are a few things that you need to know. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
REMEMBER: I have immunocompromised family members, so following these guidelines is very important to me, my home and my family.
College of Massage Therapists: All regulated health professionals are required to conduct a quick screening process of your current health to make sure you are COVID free prior to receiving a session. These are a few questions to consider prior to each session so that we all remain COVID free. A copy of the questionnaire will be sent to you with your reminder, 48hr prior to your appointment with your Reminder. Another copy will be in the clinic for you to review, to ensure you are able to receive a treatment. If you do not pass the questionnaire or have any doubts, pleasecontact me to cancel and reschedule your appointment.
If you show up for your appointment exhibiting ANY signs of not feeling well, you will NOT receive treatment, and will be charged for the appointment. PLEASE be considerate and thoughtful for your own health and the health of others.
PPE: There will be PPEs in place. I am required to wear a mask and gloves if required or requested, and you will be required to bring your own mask.If you forget your mask, you will not be able to receive your treatment. Please be responsible and ensure the safety of all of us.
Hygiene: All surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected between clients. If you need to use a tissue to blow your nose or wipe your face, please take it with you when you leave; please DO NOTput it in the trash can in the clinic.
Hand Hygiene: Please wash your hands in the clinic bathroom sink or use the hand sanitizer provided, before your session. Only use paper towels to dry your hands.
Arrival: Please do not arrive early and enter the house. If you do arrive early, please remain in your vehicle (if walking, remain at the sidewalk level). You may enter the house no more than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. This should give you enough time to go to the washroom and disinfect your hands. Please do not bring additional people to your appointment.
Entering the clinic: Please put your mask on before entering the clinic/house. Please remove all foot wear and leave your shoes by the entrance way on the rubber mat, before entering the clinic area. Please wash your hands in the bathroom sink or use the hand sanitizer provided, before entering the clinic space.
Payment:
Tap payment (Debit/Credit) = easiest method
eTransfer = second option – MUST be prepaid before arriving to your appointment [email protected]
Cash = third option
Accessories: Please do not bring in any additional bags ie. knapsack, etc. Please remove all metal / electronic accessories (which includes jewellery, fit bits, cell phones, coins, etc.) prior to entering the clinic either leave them at home or in your vehicle or purse. The less accessories the better.
Scheduling: The timing between appointments will be a minimum of 60 minutes. (This might be altered after the clinic has been functioning in this new setup). Please be considerate of timing, as in depth cleaning has to be completed between each session. After your session, if you have any questions or comments please email those to me. [email protected]
Maisie - Clinic Dog: Maisie has loved having the family at home but has also missed working in the clinic, and she is very excited about greeting you. Please do not pat her before you wash your hands. Thank you!
Maisie and I are looking forward to seeing you :) Take care and see you soon, Janet

March 16, 2020 In light of the recent developments regarding COVID-19, I wanted to reach out to all of my clients and let you know what steps are being taken to keep all of you, and myself healthy. This is a crazy and unsettling time. Each of us needs to remain calm and present, so that we are in a position to make informed and rational decisions.
The most effective way to stop the spread of a virus, is to promote a healthy environment internally (strong immune system) and externally, through disinfecting, cleaning and personal, responsible actions, Everyone needs to share in this responsibility by routinely washing their hands with soap and water and distancing themselves from others if any symptoms arise. If we collectively share this responsibility, then we can also collectively move through this unsettling time more efficiently, In the clinic space, I have been doing extra cleaning, using medical grade cleaners. All doorknobs and shared surfaces (transaction terminals, chairs, desk, table, counter) are wiped down and cleaned regularly. I am also purifying the air during all appointments with Thieve’s oil, which has antimicrobial properties.
Appointments are still running as scheduled. However, I would ask if you feel any symptoms, or have been in contact with someone that is symptomatic, to NOT attend your appointment. This will help minimize the spread to others. Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to cancel, so that your appointment can be offered to another. There are a number of people that come through the clinic in a week, and it is also my home, so I ask that you take all the preventative measures that you can, so we can keep ourselves, and others healthy.
If you have any questions or concerns about appointments or cancellations, please reach out to me via phone, email or txt..
